I am so excited about this one. No it really isn't any big thing but it is lets say very pleasing when you have an organizational problem and you come up with a quick and easy solution.
I truly have been thinking about this one for weeks and I have known it was a problem for a lot longer.
Here's the problem. Five maybe six years ago I came up with what I thought was a genius solution to my husband's ties and belts. I had tried several things and gadgets that are sold for ties and hadn't come up with a solution that worked for my husband. A lot of the time the ties ended up on the floor of the closet. Then I came up with the thought of creating a dividing system for our dresser drawer.

Then I came up with the thought of creating a dividing system for our dresser drawer.
Always trying to create my systems with the least amount of money possible I took foam core board left over from a school project and made dividers for the ties. I left space in the back of the drawer for belts.
This system has worked great for a long time but now my husband owns more ties and a lot more belts. The belts are harder to get out because they are stacked on each other and the are starting to push the foam core out of place smashing the ties.
If I could get rid of the belts then I could have room for his growing tie collection.
So the problem is what to do with the belts.
After stewing about the different possibilities I finally decided they could hang just inside the closet doors on the divider for his shirts. But I didn't know how to do that. I tried to find over-the-door holders but they were too wide and the top was made to fit a door not a closet divider.
Then inspiration came. I tried the hooks that I had purchased from IKEA (10 for 99 cents) I had only used three of them on the hanging thing above the stove. I still had 7 left.

It was genius yet again.
They fit perfectly. They are a little snug which is great because they passed the test of my husband pulling and twisting them. He declared them acceptable. (I thought he could have been a little more enthusiastic) And with all of his belts on them it is easy for him to get to them. He didn't realize he had so many belts.
So I am excited that one more problem has been solved.
