At this busy time of Thanksgiving Feasts and shopping all the great sales I though I would just do a quick recipe that I to use when I don't feel like fussing too much.
That is my Whole Wheat Pizza Crust. It is super easy and fast.
All you do is put:
This recipe is for one thicker crust pizza or two thin crust pizzas.
I used this crust recipe to make two thin crust pizzas. Since I don't have a pizza stone I just use my cookie sheets. If you like a crispy crust you can bake the crust for 5 min first and then add the toppings and continue baking for another 8-10 mins.

All you do is put:
- 1 cup warm water,
- 2 Tbs oil,
- 1 Tbs sugar (I actually use 1/16 tsp. stevia)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1 Tbs. instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cup flour

For one pizza I used pineapple and ham with a cheese mixture of Cheddar, Mozzarella and Pepper Jack. On the other pizza using the same cheese mixture I added sausage and olives.
They turned out great and were very delicious.
My favorite sauce for pizza is one I found in "Eat More, Weigh Less" by Dr Dean Ornish. It is very spicy and full of flavor. It is the type of sauce that you can use with just vegetables and no cheese and it is great!
All you do is use 1 cup tomato puree (a small can of tomato sauce works great) and the add 1 tsp. of the following: dry thyme, fresh basil, fresh parsley, oregano, garlic and black pepper. Add a pinch of salt and sugar and you have a very tasty, spicy sauce.
The black pepper in this sauce really adds a kick. If you would like a milder sauce just cut it back.
So for years I have used dry basil and parsley. I didn't realize they were supposed to be fresh. That probably made my sauce much more potent since you usually use a lot less dried herbs compared to the amount you would use of fresh herbs. but I really have liked it that way.
Happy Thanksgiving!
