Since I started writing this blog, I have been very conscious of the need to be flexible and creative.
Once again our home is in a state of redefinition as my daughter and her husband have moved in temporarily. The room they now occupy was our media room making it necessary for me to find a new home for our TV.
Naturally, being self sacrificing, I opted to put the TV in what has become my office. This gave me the challenge to reorganize once again.

The picture above is of four cube cabinets that had been in stacks of two with a board between them that created a desk.
As you can see I have inherited a cherry wood desk from elsewhere in the house and not wanting to lose the storage these cubes provide, I needed to come up with a new use for them. A little bench seemed to be the perfect solution.
I have plans to make official cushions for them but until then I am making do with pillows left over from my daughters wedding reception last summer. We made at least 20 of them to place on benches in the yard.

I also love the way the cabinets (now a bench) show off the tree that my daughter painted on the wall when this room was her bedroom.
I also have finally found a place to put this Chinese Ginger Jar. We inherited this jar when we moved into this home and it has never had a home that I was happy with until now.
